Our Story

CamboKidz was created by an expat family who know just how difficult it is for parents to find timely and reliable information on activities for their kids in Cambodia. After spending hours each day scouring websites and various online groups looking for fun and educational activities for their toddler to join, they decided to create a site that brought all the shards of information into one comprehensive, easy-to-use, and searchable platform.

As the site began to take shape, other likeminded parents joined the project team, each bringing their own unique skills and experiences in navigating Cambodia’s often challenging and poorly charted parenting landscape. Working together, the concept of an “all things kids” guide and planning tool for families in Phnom Penh grew into the digital platform you see today.

The CamboKidz website (and phone app to be released soon) helps parents save time by putting hundreds of family-friendly activities, events, services and restaurants at their fingertips. Our activity finder lets you find fun and exciting things for your kids to do using a filtered search, making sure your little ones are excited and engaged (and, just as important, tired out and ready for bedtime!). Meanwhile, our kids’ event calendar keeps you informed on what's going on in and around Phnom Penh.

​But why stop at activities and events? Every parent in Cambodia struggles to find the information they need to make decisions concerning their child's health, education and wellbeing. CamboKidz is packed full of resources designed to help parents, whether it's deciding on a school, planning a birthday party, or looking to hire a nanny.

As parents ourselves, we recognize the value of community. The parenting network plays an important role in our daily lives, and we all rely on each other for information, advice and support. And we’re proud to build on this network by creating the first online forum exclusively for parents to discuss and share information about raising children in Cambodia.

​

While CamboKidz focuses on activities suitable for the children of expats living in Cambodia, it is hoped that the site can benefit all families, whether Cambodian, foreigner or mixed. By providing parents with up-to-date information and resources on activities, events and services for their children we create more opportunities for families to spend time together, and for our kids to grow up healthy and happy.
