Halloween is fast approaching, so if you haven’t already it’s time to find a costume for your kids. Don’t worry, you’ll have more than few chances to dress your little monsters up and take them out for trick-or-treating and spooky fun as Halloween (October 31) falls on a Thursday this year and many event organizers are scheduling events for the weekend before or after the festive holiday. But just to help, we’re spotlighting a few upcoming kid-friendly Halloween events in Phnom Penh.
If you enjoyed last year’s Halloween event at the Night Market in Coconut Park, then you’ll love what they have in store for you this year. Weather permitting, this is the one of the best Halloween party venues in town for families, set on a large grassy field that’s an ideal spot to lay a picnic blanket and enjoy a packed agenda of outdoor Halloween-themed fun, games and entertainment.
You’ll find food vendors and local retailers offering candies to trick-or-treaters, a live band, artistic performances, and lots of fun and games for the kids. But the highlight is the park’s annual Halloween costume parade, with parents, kids and even their pets welcome to join the contest. A toddler in a pint-sized vampire costume. Too cute! A parrot in a pirate outfit? Cut it out!
Dress your kids up in their favorite Halloween costume and get them down to Sambo’s Tots, which is hosting a phantasmic fun party on Saturday, October 26 to celebrate Halloween (and the preschool’s 15th birthday). The party starts at 9 am with Halloween-themed arts & crafts, fun and games.
The crew at Sambo’s Tots love to entertain the kids, so you can be sure there will be lots of music and sing-alongs to get your little monsters into the spirit.
This Halloween season, Combi Plaza is transforming the school’s bright and cheery classrooms into a haunted hotel with eight dark and mysterious rooms. Each room will have its own spooky theme – from Harry Potter to Dracula.
Your little ones will be thrilled to explore the rooms of this haunted hotel. And they’ll find more festive fun in the lobby, with Halloween games, trick-or-treating and a magical bubble show.
Let your cute little ghouls and goblins can parade around in their costumes for a chance to win prizes at this fun and spooky Halloween event set on the grounds of the Himawari Hotel Apartments. The activities start early on Saturday, October 26, and include Halloween-themed games and treats for the kids.
Factory Phnom Penh has established itself as a hub for Halloween thrills in Cambodia and this year the atmospheric former garment factory will be laying it on thick with Hallowfest. The two-day fair, which runs from October 26 to 27, will feature all sorts of Halloween events and festivities, including: face painting, trick-or-treating, a Halloween-themed cosplay competition and plenty of spooky games and activities for the kids.
If your kid loves cats (and what kid doesn’t?) then you’ll want to stop by Ministry of Cat on Thursday, October 31. The rescue cat café and adoption center is hosting a fun and playful Halloween soiree.
Parents can sip on spiced lattes while their children get to know the café’s resident felines. There will be discounts for kids who arrive in costume, and prizes for the best Halloween outfit.
If your little monster can’t get enough of Halloween, or you sent them to an early Halloween costume party and want to get more photo ops of them in their uber cute outfit, then you’re in luck. One Park Residence is hosting a Halloween party on Saturday, November 2 with all the spooky fixings. Get there early for the face-painting and stay on for the costume contest and lucky draws.
Mimi and the Merrymakers will be at Farm to Table on Sunday, October 27 to entertain your family with a wholesome medley of silly and slightly spooky children’s songs. The first set starts at 4 pm, with a repeat performance at 5:30 pm. It’s all lighthearted fun, and kids can even grab an instrument and play along if they like.
The Giving Tree International School is hosting a Halloween party on Saturday, October 26 that promises to be fun and spooky… but “not too scary”. After all, the party is for its early years and primary years learners. Your kids will have a blast with face painting, games and a fun costume competition.
The event is open to the public. And if your little one is not already enrolled there, it’s a chance to check out what a great campus they have.
Need a break from shopping? Aeon Mall Phnom Penh has decked up its Riverside extension with spooky Halloween decorations. Kids who dare to enter are in for some Halloween fun and games, and plenty of photo ops. The Spooky Zone runs from October 19-27 and is free to enter, no costume required.
You’ll find details of all these Halloween events in the CamboKidz Events section.
