CamboKidz Guide to Summer Camps 2024

Updated: Jul 7

Our annual directory of school and recreation programs in and around Phnom Penh during the summer school break

With the school year coming to an end, parents are looking for fun and educational programs to keep their kids busy over the summer break. Fortunately, a growing number of schools and training centers in Phnom Penh offer day programs with instruction and activities for children and teenagers.

While these are not “summer camps” in the traditional sense (there are no tents, campfires or marshmallow roasts), they all offer a supervised program or modified curriculum for kids during the summer school break, which falls between early June and mid-August depending on the school.

The focus of these camps vary. Some are geared towards toddlers (lots of fun activities like singing, dancing and games), while others offer an instructional program for sports, music or stage. And some are aimed at helping kids catch up or get ahead in academics.

But whatever the theme, all the camps seem to add an extra element of relaxed fun to the summer school break setting.

The camps typically run over several weeks and are priced and bookable on a weekly basis. For some, each day brings more instruction and progress toward mastering a skill. Others have themes that change – so your little one might learn all about dinosaurs during the first week, space exploration on week two, then maybe dabble in art on the third.

The majority of schools that offer summer camps let children of suitable age enroll, even if not registered at the school. This makes the camps an excellent opportunity for parents to try out a new school (or several schools) before committing to a full year.

CamboKidz has collected information from dozens of summer camps around Phnom Penh. All camps in our list offer instruction in English or French, and are suitable for both Cambodian and expat children, and are sortable by name, organizer, date and location.

Our list keeps growing, so check back often.
